Why sound matters more than picture
Viewers forgive a slightly soft picture, but they scroll away from a video they can't hear clearly. Phone microphones pick up everything: traffic, wind, the air conditioner, a fridge, other people, and the echo of an empty room. A clip-on microphone helps — but most people film when the idea is fresh, not when the gear is ready.
How clean voice works in PostRN
- One tap after recording. On the Save screen, tap Clean up my voice. PostRN separates your voice from everything else in the take, usually in under a minute.
- Echo and noise out, your voice in. Room echo, traffic, wind, background music and other people's chatter are removed. Your voice keeps its own sound — it isn't replaced by an AI voice.
- Picture and lip sync unchanged. Only the sound changes. The video is exactly what you recorded, and your lips stay in sync.
- Undo anytime. Go back if you prefer the original. Your recording on the phone is never changed.
- Then add captions. A clean voice also gives better captions. How captions work.
Five ways to get better sound before you even tap
- Get closer. Half an arm's length beats a full arm: your voice gets louder, the room gets quieter.
- Soft rooms sound better. Curtains, a sofa or a wardrobe full of clothes swallow echo; a bathroom or an empty flat adds it.
- Turn off what hums. Air conditioner, fan, TV — five seconds of switching off saves the take.
- Face away from the noise. Put the street or the open window behind the phone, not behind you.
- Watch the first take with headphones. You'll hear what viewers will hear — then decide whether to clean it up.
Questions
Does clean voice change how I sound?
No. It removes what isn't your voice — echo and background noise — and keeps your own voice. It does not replace it with a synthetic voice.
Is clean voice free?
The free plan includes one clean-up a month so you can try it. PostRN Pro includes 30 a month.
Does it remove background music too?
Yes. Background music is treated as noise and removed, so only your voice is left. If you want music in your post, add it in TikTok or Instagram afterwards.
How long does it take?
Usually under a minute for a 30–60 second video.
